THE IMPORTANCE OF BACKING UP YOUR FILES

A drive failure can happen at any time then important data is corrupted in the blink of an eye. At the very least you should back up important documents and keep your email settings handy as even a small amount of data recovery can be expensive.

Backup methods available : 

  • Floppy disks : Yes they are almost extinct but us techs still use them. Only good for documents though.
  • USB Flash drive : generally available from 1Gb to 40Gb + and definately the quickest way to backup esential files. Watch out though as these can become corrupted in some circumstances so make an extra backup.
  • External usb or ethernet hard drive : One of the best methods and now quite inexpensive.
  • Cd or DVD : you can safely put loads of stuff on these.
  • On-line storage : There are plenty of options for doing this as follows:

Fax for Windows Vista 

Windows Vista Premium does not have a fax option. However there is an application called Snappy Fax 

and this works very well although you may not use all the features and its not expensive.
